In a scenic valley over 4,000 feet in elevation nestled between two Blue Ridge mountains, Buck Hill Campground sits on the river banks of the North Toe River. We have 60 large grassy sites with plenty of shade for those warm but comfortable summer days. There is plenty of open spaces for bike riding, kite flying, or ball throwing. We have two bath houses with hot water and showers. During the summer we have special events such as blue grass music groups, cook-outs and July 4th festivities including an excellent fireworks display.
Buck Hill Campground is a place for families to have the time of a life time. Did you know that "Families who camp together, stay together?" Many parents have experienced the joy of teaching their child to ride a bike for the first time on our flat open road. Or maybe you have some special friends that you would like to spend some quality time with. We believe Buck Hill is just the place for you. You can play games, cards, bird watching, or do some good ole storytelling around your on-site fire pit for chilly mountain evenings.
One of the best trout fishing rivers in the state on the Toe River runs through our property. We offer trout fishing, tubing, a 2 mile hiking trail with overlook on our 144 acres, basketball, horseshoes, volleyball, or just relaxing by the cool mountain river. Most importantly is the time apart from the rush of life with your family and friends - that is priceless!
